Amp related Q.
I would assume it's the blue wire that goes from the HU to the amp to let it know the HU is on (or off).
No problem if you hook everything up before the speaker wire, but I would turn the gains down so you're not powering your amp for no reason.

the "trigger" wire is officially known as a remote lead. It connects to a switched 12V source that turns the amp on and off with the ignition so that the amp doesn't continue to draw power when the vehicle is OFF.
With anything you hook up amplifier wise - make sure you have a solid ground before you connect it to the battery...minimally hook up power, ground, and remote. or conversely, hook up RCA's and speaker wire and save that for last.
