Would it be possible to do?
Do you guys think it would be possible to create a wiring harness to accept audio input from an mp3 player and it work with the stock radio?
At the back of our radio there is an empty harness plug to accept the Honda's stock 6-CD changer unit. I think its a 14-pin plug that is needed. I think it might work considering we have "DISC-" and "DISC+" on the front of our radios.
What I really just want to do is make a harness into the back of the raio, and the other end just have a 1/8" plug to plug into an mp3 player. Do you think with the combination of the "DISC" buttons and the harness I'll be able to do this?
As well, does anyone know what each 14-pin on that plug does?
Thanks

How much does this item cost? I don't really want to spend alot on it. I was just wondering if its just as easy to get a 14-pin wire harness, 1/8" male plug and some wire.
Does anyone have know what the 14-pin 6-CD changer plug assignment is? I have the Haynes manual but it doesn't say anything about it.
This could turn out to be a very slick little project. It has tons of potential for other stuff as well. ie homemade mp3player, hehehe, thats the ultimate gone.

The interface is like $25. Id that is too much, I wouldnt bother. Youll most likely screw something up inside or mess up a pin or two. I believe Soundgate makes one. Just do a google search

I have another member here going to lookup what each of the 14-pin harness does, and I'll post the results for other members.
If this harness can be made for like $10 AND if it works...boy, have I got some big plans.

Slightly bad update: My car got broken into lastnight. Nothing missing that I know of. Steering column is all messed up, need some body work done on the door handle. About CND$2000 to fix it up.
This is going to be on the back burner next week now. I'm going to have to open the stock HU up to figure this out. Sorry guys.
