Where do you mount your amps?

I got a small Rockford Fosgate 250m amp and I don't know where to put it. I was going to just screw it to the back of the seat in the trunk, but the supports in the seat aren't large enough to take a screw. I don't want to mount it to the box and not into building a custom setup right now.

unzip the bottom of the seat on the side facing the trunk, you'll be able to slide a piece of wood under there allowing you to fasten anything you want onto the seat back.

I'll try that with the wood, but I couldn't find the DIY. The search function on this site sucks hard, it ORs search words together instead of AND. Thanks guys!

This works very well. If you have multiple amps or very large ones, you can put one carpeted board across both of the back seats, screw into both seats (outside of the seat upholstery on the trunk side) and then screw the amps into that. My personal 7th gen has that set up, you have to fold down both seats instead of just one, but it works great.

That's pretty good, so basically you put some wood behind the carpet on the side and screwed it to there? I'm not real worried about the spare tire right now, I can just put the seats down and pull the sub back to access the tire if I have to.

glad i helped people!

as for DeX your question.. I cut a piece of wood, carpeted the wood, and screwed it into place. I didnt put it behind the existing carpet. The car's existing carpet was glued onto the already carpeted wood and then the amp covers where it lines up. so i cut a section of the original carpet but you don't have to. works either way.

If your amps are too big to install 1 amp per seat back, do what I did in my car and put one carpeted board across both seats. You can get truck carpeting from any local car upholstery shop that will match your trunk carpet. I have two amps mounted that way with more than enough room left over for a small signal processor or distribution block if I needed it.

My amp is fits perfectly right on top of the spare tire without getting in the way of the trunk floorboard.

No one suspects I even have an amp because they cant see it.

The real deal, no photoshopping. Piece of wood bolted to rear seat, and amp bolted to the piece of wood. Wires run inside of the seat.

my favorite spot is bolted to the underside of the rear deck. you can get aluminum spacers and long screws from home depot. even mechine screws, if you insist.

for those who dont want to take the trouble of bolting it to a board, you can always just ziptie it to the mesh.

after the ties are tightened, you cna poke the ugly head into the backsideof the seat. you never see the uglyness.

or if you have nimble hands, you can take the seatback inside and pull it tight inside the structure.
