4ga power wire enough?
4ga power wire enough?
car: 7thgencivic with factory equipment
amps: alpine 4-ch speaker amp (40w x4) & soon hifonics bx1500d (1500 overrated watts @1ohm)
subs: two 12" kicker L7's in ported box
upgrades: 4ga BIG-3, 4ga DIY grounding kit, and hyper voltage system
right now, im running the alpine speaker amp (20a fuse) and the hifonics bx1000d (60a fuse) powered with 4ga from battery to trunk...no problems with the wire melting at all. but will i be fine with 4ga when i upgrade to the bx1500d? bx1500d is rated at an 120A fuse and i know the most fusing the 4ga can take is 150a

damn..those look like 15's?
on a daily driving basis, how often did you play your music volume at? i usually have my volume at 27/62 and their are times where i would turn it up to 50 for showing off.
and what electrical upgrades you had with that setup?

those are S12L7s, but i did have a pair of L715s at one point... and at the time of that picture, i was pushing them with a Hifonics BX1500D...
i normally keep my volume down to normal levels (22-26 out of 40 on a Panasonic head unit) while i'm just driving around, and if i'm jamming out, i still keep the sub bass turned down pretty far using the remote gain control... i'm a linguist, i need my hearing lol... i had a truck with 4 S15L7s in a 33 cubic foot ported box, so i'm already pushing my luck lol...
when showing off, i just crank the gain control back up... i turn it up, but i never go past 30... i was pushing 1610 watts to each sub at one point, and it was so loud it was painful at times... i could set off car alarms several parking spots away, and i ALWAYS turned heads when cruisin through parkin lots and stuff lol...
as far as electrical upgrades go, i had an Optima Yellow Top under the hood and a BatCap 800 in the trunk that was directly wired to my sub amp... other than that, it was all stock (no H.O. alternator, no Big 3, etc), and i NEVER had any headlight dimming or anything like that, even with the system slamming and the heater, etc on...
I.C.E. is my passion, so if you have any questions about anything, or need any more info, just holla... later, bro...
