6x9's Sound like water after installing a new amp
Ok, before I installed the new Concept 810rms, I had an 800watt peak Kenwood. Before it sounded great, but when the new amp was put in, i could only turn the volume up half way before my speakers (door and 6x9) sounding like they were under water.
I've had people take a look at it and asked the same questions......
First, i thought it was a power issue, but we added a stinger battery to the system. This did the same thing.
Now i thought I would try a ground loop isolator.
Any ideas....

ok check connections to make sure there is no polarity reversal, re adjust HU and double check amp settings. Its more than likely a setting problem

i had a similar problem and i think the deck/amp wasn't matched properly. i had a 6.5v preout pioneer deck and small 25wx4 alpine amp. i played with the gain but it still sounded like they weren't amped. now i'm using an alpine deck with 2v output and the sound is much better at optimal gain.

turn your gain down
OR
don't turn the volume up so loud. listen to it at a level before it starts distorting, dont just crank the volume becuase you can
