i have a small system in my car runnin off my factory HU and it sounds good
BUT if i have it up louder than 3 bars on the volume control after a while my highs start to mess up/
it sounds like the amp cuts on and off real quick something like a skippin CD but its not i have no idea whats the matter i only have aftermarket 6.5's and am wonderin if the factory tweeters and 6X9;s have a safty system so they wont blow but its makin me mad as hell [IMG]i/expressions/face-icon-small-mad.gif[/IMG] i dont think its the rca converter because the subs are workin fine its only the highs and i have put two differant amps on them so i dont think its the amps and i dobt that its the crossover so i have no idea whats up??? does any one????
and the 3 bars of volume i usually have it on is LOUD and clear but sometimes i want to put it up just a little louder but cant cause it messes up !!!!!!!!!!!!!! i dont know what to do any one know what i could do????

well I'd have to say that the easy way out is just to buy a new head unit... why do you have the factory one still if you want a decent sound system? seems like the HU is the first thing to go when making better car audio

beause it does sound good and i didnt want haters messin with my car cause they see a radio in my ride
i got another radio a JVC that i might just put in if i had to

This may sound dumb, but check your amps ground...

I hooked up 2 8" Rockford Fosgate DVC subs and component 6.5" speakers in the front with a Line out converter (RCA converter) and it worked awesome....

Now I bought a tight Alpine deck and removed the converter....

(as far as the converter goes, I had the junkiest one that Tweeter Audio and Video sold when I worked there 1 year ago)

get a new HU. the stock one sucks. I can't wait to get my new one in a couple weeks.

Buy a new H.U. It will make all the difference in the sound of your system .

The actualy problem is the HU's internal amplifier is getting too hot and the output transistors begin adding alot of distortion. Distortion is mot noticable at higher frequencies. To to be sure. when you start getting the distortion, eject your CD and feel how hot it is[IMG]i/expressions/face-icon-small-smile.gif[/IMG] that should answer your questions.

Get a good quality aftermarket HU.

For a great reliable good sounding HU at a lower price get a Pioneer Premiere 230. Has a 2 year warranty.

detachable face sucka.......

just make sure it looks like a detach face, all these active black panel/kameleon/DMASK are okay for like 30 mins of parking, but thieves know what these look like and they'll rip you off if you leave it. I have a sony m620 and I just yank the face off when I park. most thieves wont bother with my ride, b/c door speakers arent worth it and if they can get my 6x9's out within three minutes then they can have them........
