Car alarm recommendation

There are 2 GBs that I know of and one has the Viper 791vx and the other the CompuStar 2W900FMAS or 2WFMAS. Which one of these is the one you would go for? What is the diff between the two CompuStar ones as one is $25 less?

Anything would help. thanks.

I would go with the compustar since its not as common. It will be easier to distinguish your alarm when it goes off.

I 2W900FMAS has up to a 3000 foot range and the 2WFMAS has a 1500 foot range.

I have the 2WFM-AS and its worked fine since jan of 2003. The only problem I've had is I cracked the lcd screen by putting my weight on it.

What is the reason?
1. To stop small, inexperienced car teftters: any alarm system
2. To stop experienced car tefters: alarm system with aditional features like back up battery
3. To stop lover end professionals thefters: alarm system with aditional back up battery and custom second or third siren (best inside of the car)
4. To stop professionals: unique designed custom alarm system + teft protection (use your imagination) ther are plenty of way. I don't give ideas because are actualy secrets of the protection. One commersial vrsion can be the Ravelco (http://www.nohotwire.com/contact.html)
5. To stop professionals how realy whant your car: no way

The different brand of car alarm have different small features, operating range etc. So shop for something which satisfay you, but without a coustom trick, all are the same value for a professional.
And don't be dumb to put crap sickers on window like (protected by VIPER, etc). Don't live guide to the robber. Custom blink LED is better then the one from the alarm.
Look in the forum about car teft and you can get a lot of ideas.

If you read the manual it will tell you but basically there is a wire for every siren tone and if you unplug one then that tone will be gone. So unplug whichever you want and u will have a siren that u know is yours.

well as long as i know their no wires for the each 6 tones i hve to open the siren then hve to cut trace from the bord to delet tone. their is like 6 line for each tone so that not easyway as u taying to say dude.....if u know easier way then let me know....

and if u tell me to cut two wires wich is black and loopd...that just make tone loud when u arm and disarm...thats all

Been installing for over twelve years, and for seven of those Compustar and now Nustart systems and they are THE best! One issue that I have encountered are the new Compustar 9000 beige remotes have had problems. But will be replaced under warranty by the shop you're dealing with.
