doesn't leave you many choices (no transmitter or ipod ready player). i bought a $17 dollar fm transmitter from wal-mart 2 weeks ago and i couldn't be happier. i get crystal clear reception in any weather (it that makes a difference). i have the transmitter under my seat so no one can see it. the key to getting good reception with a fm transmitter, in my opinion, is to turn the volume level on the ipod to alittle below half way, and just turn up the volume of your car's stereo. that gets rid of any fuzzy sounds or waves.

fm transmitters are horrible, dont get one at all no matter what people say, i bought a $50 adapter that plugs into the back of the cd changer port on the STOCK HEADUNIT, yes stock u dont need a aftermarket head unit for one of these like everyone says, and it plugs into the headphone jack. Its cd quality sound and i love it, go to froogle and type in PIE HON98-AUX, they have them there cheaper than ur gonna spend on a fm transmitter, god i hope u read this before u get the transmitter cause they are horrible, and also u couldve searched this cause i mustve answered this question about 4000 times.......http://froogle.google.com/froogle?q=...b=wf&scoring=p

FM transmitters do suck. They are bulky and "wirery", they have wires are over the place. Well the wireless ones don't, like the iTrip for the iPod works well, sometimes. Anyway, you're not gonna get "crystal clear quality" from anything that doesn't plug directly into a unit that is iPod ready. Which means you have to spend some $$. Case closed.
Hi. Use one of these: circuitcity.com/ssm/Metra-Honda-compatible-iPod-Adapter-HOIP01-/sem/rpsm/oid/119808/catOid/-15421/rpem/ccd/productDetail.do
U hook it into the back of your factory radio and it charges and lets u control ur ipod thru it. I have one in each of my hondas and I love it. Never an issue with sound quality.
I have a bunch that I am selling for $75 shipped

rhcp has it correct if you want the cheap way out and are happy with stock sound. Also - I don't think the nano is compatible with any of the aftermarket head unit modules you can purchase so that negates the consideration of controlling it from a head unit.

You want to control it on the ipod? It's a simple procedure. Does your deck have aux in? If so, go to radio shack, or an electronics store and purchase a male mini-stereo to male rca convertor. Connect via the aux input on the headunit. Cost about $15 bucks, will sound better than the transmitter.

That was in english.
You're wanting to go from your radio to an ipod. Do you have an aftermarket stereo? If so, does the aftermarket headunit have auxillary inputs on it? If it does, you can put the ipod in and control it via the ipod. To do this, it will go as follows.
1.Go to an electronics store of your choosing
2. Purchase a wire with a male mini-stereo plug on one end (it's what the connector is called on the end of your headphones, make sure it looks like the headphone plug on one end) and on the other end will be a set of male RCA plugs (they'll have the plugs that have the prong portion on them that you'll plug into the female portion of RCA wire coming off of your headunit).
3. IF it's short (you should be able to get one that's at least 4 feet long, possibly 6 feet or longer, you'll only need 4 feet, less depending on where you are going to house the ipod) you may want to get a span of rca wire as well to extend it.
4. Plug the male ends of teh RCA portion of wire into the auxillary input RCA's on the back of your headunit (this requires removing the headunit, DIY's are on here for that).
5. Route the wire to where you want the iPod to be, most convenient would be somewhere in the center console around the cupholders.
6. Plug the male mini-tereo plug into your ipod.
7. Switch your headunit to auxillary input.
8. Play iPod as you would listening to it on your headphones.
9. Listen to music off your iPod in your car.
That's as simple and concise as I can make it. If you have the stock headunit, you can buy a connector that plugs into the cd changer port on the rear of your headunit that converts it to RCA as well. The same wire would be used here as well, and control it through your iPod. Instructions would be the same as above except you'll have to plug the convertor into the rear of your headunit then plug the RCA's in as opposed to plugging RCA's directly into the aux inputs. Operate it the same as you would a cd changer, and control the music via the iPod. The part you need to convert the cd changer port into RCA's is posted on here in another thread. You can find it by searching above. I would do it for you, but I'm lazy.

Thats exactly what i did for my 4gb nano.
I have a kenwood deck. I even routed my aux line through the opening in my e-brake. So when i connect my nano i have enough slack to control it through the nano and then put the wiring back into the ebrake when i'm done.
I think certain alphine decks let you control your ipod through the deck. i think alphinecivic has it. He made a post about it awhile back do a search.

I don't understand purchasing the over priced interfaces when you can accomplish the same thing without it much cheaper. True, you ahve to control it through teh iPod, but if you keep your music organized in folders in your iPod, ou can load a play list and set it to random. It's overkill to control it through the hu, IMHO.

its pretty good. You do have to put the volume all the way up on teh nano to get its full sound. The amplipher on the nano kinda sux, but if you have a good amp in your car, it'll sound the same as your cds if not better.
