ok so for christmas and cuz theres all these bargens this time of year im lookin into puttin a sub and amp into my car but i still want to have trunk space any suggestions for around mabey 300 bucks

if you want trunk space, and still want to good sounding system start with your internal speakers. Nice deck, new door/rear speakers and amp them, if that doesn't satisfy your need for the time being move up to a sub after but throwing in a sub with a stock deck and stock speakers sounds pretty crappy IMO. As for what kind of deck, Alpine #1 i must say, clarion, eclipse, pioneer are all good choices too.

You can get better if you go to a car audio shop and haggle. but i would stay away from brands like sony, dual, and jensen. a cheap pioneer or alpine is better than a expensive dual. remember the 3 series is bmw's low line so dont worry about a high quality brands cheap stuff.

no what i meant to say is that a cheap alpine is not a "cheap" deck. What i meant by dont worry is dont fear buying a 120 dollar alpine over a 300 dollar jensen. I didnt mean forget about them.
