New audio system help
hey, first post but long time reader. I have a 2005 Civic EX coupe and I want to upgrade the sound system. I will probably have to do it in 2 phases-speakers then radio. Which should I do first? What speakers and radio do you recommend? What sizes do I need for the door and the rear deck? Thanks for any help!

Fronts I think size is 6.5
Rear 6x9
If you go with HU first you'll probably fry your stock speakers. If you go speakers first you won't get the proper sound out of them till you change the HU.Remember the Heart of your system is your HU..

Put a headunit in first. You will be amazed at how well your factory speakers will sound with more power. Just be conservative and dont blow them too fast. Then go with speakers. As mentioned above, Boston Acoustics are excellent, JL, or MB Quart are all good makes. As for a headunit, Alpine all the way my friend. If you go for a higher end Alpine, you may be able to get amber lighting as a feature then all your dash lights will match also
