seems like a good idea, but does it work as well? i cant imagine a 4 in deep sub putting out sound like one thats 12 in deep ....
if anyone says it has good sound quality i might pick one up, seems pretty cheap and would be a good space saver for someone who doesnt need SUPER X-TREME bass response

i dont really think it would be that good cuz it cant have that much excursion cuz there's no room for a very big voice coil, might not sound bad, but wont be anything jaw-droping

It more of a solution for small spaces. Kinda like what Illusion Audio came out with by reversing the magnets location to be in FRONT of the driver...

actually they sound slightly better and hit a little harder than a fosgate p2 12" in a wedge box. we mainly put them behind the seat in a standard cab chevy pick up. they were great for what they were designed to do. we also put 2 in the back of a magnum. the customer wanted subs but didnt want to give up storage space. they sounded real good. Its just they are designed for people with space problems. if you dont need these buy a normal sub. however if you dont have space or dont want to give up space they are awesome. there is a custom made box you buy with it that has a heavy duty grill. they have been out for over a year now.

Not true, look at the Audiobahn AWP312T, its only 4" deep. Sounds good too!
Any sub that is meant for low mounting depth has compromises something in comparison to another sub. Booba is right about the excursion, it just doesnt have the travel length to push a lot of air, meaning it wont be as loud as a similar diameter sub in the same environment. And these subs are designed to be mounted free-air, not in an enclosure which also will not play as loud or low as one in a sealed enclosure. They are meant for space saving design, someone who wants bass but doesnt want a huge enclosure in their trunk, not extreme SPL or SQ.

planet audio, poineer, earthquake all make the small form factor subs for people that like to keep space or don't have it such as in a truck. They actuuakky hit pretty good for the design
