i just set to +4? you won't get that much bass. but are you running speakers off an amp or just from the deck? if its the deck, you want to upgrade by running a separate power wire from the battery and also new ground to chassis. the stock ones are kinda thin in the harness.

oh ya you have more option. you really just gotta do what sounds good. the scale of music goes 20hz-40hz low boomy bass, 40-80 faster punchy bass, 80-120 midbass range, and then the mids, and then highs around 5-20,000. the easiest way to adjust an eq is pick the music you listen to most and tune each band separately. if it sounds good with the band up, then leave it a few notches otherwise turn it down a few. do this with a bunch of songs and try to find an average where most of what you listen to sounds good.
I not running any amp. I'm planning to get one for the speakers down the line once i have money for it. I have alpine type R speakers all around. The unit have parametric EQ and a bar eq. But i understand how to set it up. Like how do i change the hz between the front and back speakers. and what range is most people using to get some bass sound into the speakers.
just set up the cossover first and then just us the factory eq's. you can screw with the graphic eq if you want but without a amp it is a waste of time. as for the xover. if you have a sub set them all to 6db octave and run the sub at 80hz and for me I have the rears at 160hz and the fronts at 200hz+. If you arent running a sub then you can run ur speaks at a flat octave but I would just make sure you dont run your eq at flat. youll destroy your speakers. if you have any other questions just ask. it took me a while to find a setting I like. If you do want to use the user EQ then I would go into the main menu, go to settings then go to audio. then to user EQ and change it to graphic EQ. it is easier if you dont know what your doing. then after you exit that go into the advanced menu and adjust the graphic EQ to taste. just remember to not keep the line to flat and youll be ok.

You also have Media Expander that'll boost it up abit.I have subs and my speakers crossed at 125 hz sub at 80hz.If you get an AMP the new Alpines with AMP LINK willl tell you your voltage and temps on the screen too. Also you can go on the website and download your custom setting too.
i have the 9855 too and ive had it for a month now and still havent gotten around to figuring it out yet, i just use the factory eq's for now but i'll eventually get to tuning it myself.......
I dont use MX even though it applifys base etc, its just like "loud" with the pioneer decks, it just causes distortion........
i hear the graphic eq is easier to use than parametric, and its easier to use the online i-personalize to set it but obviously you cant hear it till you download it............good luck

First run your thicker wires, then go to the alpine website and add your car's properties in there it will automaticly calculate the time correction (it not allways prefectly right but then u've got a thought)
burn to a cd and add in u're radio it will download the settings in your radio
adjust everything turn the sub output off en adjust your crossover acording to speakers (verry important )
after that u can still get more bass thru media expander and the equalizer, and in a way u wont blow u're speakers
hope ive helped u

thanx for all the help. I finally (sort of) figure out how to use the settings. And I don't have stock speakers, I have Alpine Type R speakers all around. But it still have a weaker sounding bass than my stock speakers.
