Sub and amp Question

I have a Pioneer 760 watt amp bridged and two 12" subs rated at 300 watts rms max. After a while of playing it loud about 20 minutes my subs cut out under hard bass. I have a 1.5 farad compasitor as well. Does anyone know what I have that's wrong???

what kind of amp? mono or 2 channel or ...? And how many ohms are your subs? and how are they connected from terminal to terminals? if you have less ohms that your amp can handle, more current is passing threw your amp, so when you go at higher volume, there is too much current going threw your amp. sometimes it would blow fuses on the amp if this would be the problem. need more info on the setup. other than that, it could just be that your amp get's too hot if you keep it all the way up all the time, also check ur gains, try to match that to your HU output voltage.

overheat is more common.... if after a while your subs start to kick again that is the problem... beware overheating can cause caps leaks and you amp can blow ... it happened to me xD

My amp is a 2 channel. I do think it's an over heating problem. The subs will stop hitting then a lil bit later they are fine. I just felt my amp after a while of bumpin, and it was crazy hot. I think I'm just gonna get a better amp. I was thinking of the Audiobahn A8000T.

a 2 channel usually handles 4 ohm bridged, now if your putting two 4 ohm subs in parrralelle, that's giving you a 2 ohm load wich is why it would overheat. If your subs are actually 4 ohms, get yourself a mono amp, so it will be able to handle 2 ohms, then connect your subs in parralelle. it all depends on the subs, DVC or SVC, ohms?

that's ur problem, u were giving your amp a 2ohm load, that's whats making it overheat. u could connect it at 8 ohms, but wouldn't get enough power out of your amp. you'd be better off getting yourself a mono amp that can handle 2 ohms, usually they all do.

i have the alpine mrd-605, it is 600 watts rms at 2 ohm load, i paid 589$ CAD before taxes, but in USA probably alot cheaper, try ebay, but don't buy ebay's cheap amps.
