I reccomend eclipse. Get at least a CD5425. Check out their products at www.eclipse-web.com.

ya eclipse is also good but i like alpine better cause of looks. their displays are just segment, but man the sound is amazing. I went from a $900 pioneer premier with 13 band eq and the alpine sounded much better just by playing with simple treble/bass adjustments. If you don't have an amp for the speakers, I suggest running a separate power wire from the battery to the deck and also a separate ground to the chassis rather than using the wire harness. Wire harness works just fine, but if you're using the alpine internal amp to power speakers, might as well get that extra power.
eclipse and clarion will own all when it comes to the quality of the sound. They are in a league fo there own. Eclipse also provides a one year theft protection garuntee, and they have single din headunits that you can dl maps and directions online and put them on a memory stick plug it into the headunit and it will tell you where to go, its like navi without the screen(it does have a screen but the little 1 din organic display isnt all that great) Alpine, kenwood and pioneer are all pretty much comparable.
i've had alpine on previous car and it was great!!! when i was selling the car most guys thought i had a sub but i told them they're all pure speakers and headunit(i had both alpine HU and speaker). i'll buy another alpine product again on my new car just waiting for the stock to go
ive had pioneer and kenwood, and played with pretty much everything else out there, when it comes to pioneer kenwood and alpine, they are all comparable, doesnt matter which one you get. But for base models, i found the kenwoods an d pioneer blew the alpine out the water with decent speakers
i have a pioneer HU and 4 kenwood 6.5 3 way components and the sound is more than beautiful. bass isnt bad either actually, a friend of mine was driving with me and said it sounded like i had a 10" in the trunk... i love my pioneer and kenwood stuff
I spend way too much time on this website

I've been through all the highend decks. The Eclipse is good SQ but you need an amp cause the power from just the HU is low.I've had the Premier it's not too bad but the deck feels cheap,as for Clarion I tried the new MusicCatcher I think it was the 755 and it was JUNK..IMO the Quality of the material used and Sound Quality make the ALPINE so much better..

Check out the Eclipse CD5435, you can't go wrong.
Any of the Eclipse decks with a model number ending in 5 will sound the same, but the CD5435 has the most features before you start to get into high end ****.

Where is everybody getting the idea that Alpines are better constructed and better SQ? It's almost unanimously accepted that Eclipse is tops in consumer SQ deck with Alpine trailing shortly behind.

we're saying alpine is better than most brands like kenwood, pioneer, jvc, sony, etc. i think (hope) everyone knows eclipse is #1. Thats what i was gonna get for my new deck but i really like stuff to match and the alpine is an EXACT match for the coupe lighting.
Its just peoples opinions. I personally believe kenwood would blow alpine out for their midrange and budget decks, and for the high end, there isnt even any point since it would be the same or more expensive than the eclipse
Alpines have excellent processing, high S/N ratios and excelent tracking mechanisms. The only downfall to Alpine is their warranty status> Should you ever have a problem with it, which is rare, they can be a bitch to get to fix. Eclipse and Alpine are the top brands for SQ hands down. Pioneer and even Premier are more consumer friendly products with fancy displays that gives perceived value. Listen to them both, youll see how Alpine is so much clearer than anything else, especially when used with their processors via optical out. Anyone in the CNY area that wants to challenge that can come listen and I will give full demonstration of Alpines full potential. Yes you would **** your pants.
