Amp wiring question - remote turn on.
Amp wiring question - remote turn on.
When I wire up the amps and the deck.
Do I run a "remote turn on wire" from each amp to the decks "remote turn on wire"?
Or can I have a smaller wire jump from one amp to the other?
Then do I take the two wires (or one) from the amps, along with the remote turn on wire from the deck; and connect them to the aftermarket wiring harness that connects to the one in harness in the dash, for the "remote turn on" to work?
I just dont want to come out to a dead car battery.

just run the remote wire directly from the deck. dont mess with the harness(its just 1 more connection to go bad. its rare but i have seen it) and yes you can run one wire from the deck to amp A then jump a wire from amp A's remote terminal to amp B's remote terminal.

Rep Power: 0 you have to connect one of the blue wires on the aftermarket harness, because one of them is the wire for the antena booster, if you don't connect that one theradio reception will be awful. On the HU, there should be a blue wire and a blue with white stripe wire. Connect the blue wire from the HU to the blue wire from the aftermarket harness. And run the blue with white stripe wire from the HU to your amp (remote wire). If your HU has no blue with white stripe wire, then connect the blue wire from the HU to the blue wire from the aftermarket harness and the remote wire that runs to your amp.
Split the Remore turn-on (blue/white) from the HU into two and connect the two wires to each amp. The remote wire is switched 12V+ so it doesn't turn on unless the HU is turned on, which doesn't unless the car is switched to ACC or ON.

Most aftermarket HU's remote turn on lead only operate with ~ 300-500 milliamps which isnt that much. If your turning on multiple devices its much safer to use a relay or just tape the cig. lighter.

Rep Power: 0 when a HU has only the blue wire, it's the remote turn on (not the power ant.), I think, because my alpine 9855 was like that. So it would be ok to connect it like that.

Rep Power: 786 yeah if it only has one wire its going to be an amp turn on, not a power antenna wire, it would make no sense otherwise because if that were not the case there would be no amp turn on. however it makes things kind of confusing when you come across a deck with blue and blue/white because things are then kind of "reversed"... personally I think blue should ALWAYS be for amp turn on and blue/white for antenna, but obviously that's not the case.

Rep Power: 380 most amp turn on's are blue and power antenna are blue/white. i believe even on alpines they are. but in the last week i put in like 40 pioneer/kenwood decks so its been a while.
