6x9" help

crutchfield is messed up I think. The rear deck houses 6x9's, but crutchfield says most of them wont fit...... anyone come across a 6x9 that wont fit the rear deck?

actually, lots of 6x9ers dont fit, some of the ones crutchfield say that wont fit may instead rub against the trunk springs

Yeah they will rub against the trunk springs....... 6x9's do fit in the back...... Just the mounting depth for those is small

Unsnap that clip that holds the trunk springs together at the center of the trunk.....it will give out a little bit more clearance.

I don't see why Honda went to the trunk spring. On the 92-95 civics they used shocks. I think that I might have to do a little disfiguring. My Kappa's fit and they are 3 1/8" depth. Tight fit though.

I'm sure that it is cheaper, seeing how everything else is. The only thing I don't like is how much plastic newer cars have.

For another idea... I made panels (1/2" mdf) to fill the spaces for the 6"x9"s and put Boston 6.5" coaxes in their place (cleaner)... You could do that...
