i got a alpine 12 inch type x.. im debating wether to get the jl audio 1000/1 amp or the alpine mrdm1005 im researching about them.. what is the THD for the alpine amp i cant fin dit? thx and also give opinions on the 2 amps..

Just get the alpine. My friend has that alpine amp powering two type x 12's and it sounds awesome.

THD = total harmonic distortion. there is prolly so little variation between the amps. And it isnt noticable either

yeah its silly to buy an amp based on a rating such as that... the only things that I can think of that realy matter are power handling to a point and actual sound quality.... the rest of the specs are really quite trivial

are u serious......... guess u dont notice .006%thd@1ohm with a us amps verse a cheap legacy with like .1%thd@4ohm so ya i guess that stat dont matter lol

lol wel u know what im gonna say.......get the JL!!!!!!!!!! but i do have an alpine headunit and its a great unit i just prefer jl in the sub/amp/componet department

i went with the JL 1000/1 hopefully my system will sound decent with that and the alpine type x with a Pioneer Premier DEH-P850MP HU and 5 farad cap

Actually, if you're interested, I've got a Rockford Fosgate 800a2 for $225 + shipping...it might have a few years on it, but it's one of the older models before RF's quality went downhill. If you're looking for something cheaper than new stuff, let me know.

Rockfords quality never went down hill. The new power and punch amps are some of the best amps they ever made. I dont think you could go wrong with either the alpine or jl amp. Good luck with the JL.
