First time poster, need advice.

For my audio setup I currently have:

Infinity 6010CS Components up front
Pioneer DEH-7700MP Head Unit

The components are powered by the head unit (ugh, I know) but don't sound too bad.

I also have 1 JL 12W3 powered by a basic JL amp (e1200).

First thing I had in mind was to have a nice sounding system but not so loud as to hear me...NOW I've changed my mind basically lol. I want a LOUD system and I was thinking about changing my sub setup. I have no expertise installing stuff and I'm clueless and I don't want to spend more money on installation. The amp currently is using an 8 gauge wire..so my question is. If I change my setup to say 2 Alpine Type R's which will be 1000RMS. Which of the Alpine amp will power both and is it a matter of just pulling out the old sub and amp and connect the wires that are already there to the new stuff?
Or would I have to get everything installled again because of the 8 gauge amp wire.? Need advice to save money thanks..!

Another question I had in mind is..If i get one sub like a Type X instead of 2 Type R's will it sound the same or will it be less efficient? And what amp is good for one 1000rms subwoofer..I'm looking at the alpine ones but its digital. I want an analog one with ***** n what not. Thanks in advance.

8 guage wire will noty be enough if your sending 1000 watts.
i suggest you upgrade to 4 awg.

the two type r's will be quite a bit louder than the type x

i strongly suggest you go ported, and dont use alpine's stupid reccomendations.. give them as much space as you can and atleast 40 sq in port area for the pair.

So here's the deal. I've decided on 2 Alpine Type R's along with the Alpine MRD-M1005 which is a mono amp. If it gets hooked up with parallel wiring...does the Type R's still receive 500 watts each? Do I still get the 1000 watts with that mono amp? Or does it not work like that.
