This Is Going To be Another Noob Question
Hi, Im not too sure how Peak And RMS really decide how the sound will be.
i do know most the off brand amps advertise their peak power. I know that it has nothing to do with the real power being put out.
My question is do any of you thing a single 12'' Punch Sub at 200 Watts RMS
Powered by A Pioneer Mono Amp 250 Watts RMS (both at 4ohms) will be worth installing. Is that going to be something that will make some decent sound or will it be a waste of money?
sorry i just dont know much more than installation

i listen to alot of different music. i would like to put it into a deep box. I would like to have a nice thump. i dont really want to rattle windows by any means. But i also dont want it to be a waste of money. Ive seen some really bad set ups. the kind that have worse base than our stock speakers

Yuck bandpass... They're easy to mess up, and you don't hear the distortion as much in them. But whatever floats you boat. As for ported being more efficient, well, not the most efficient. that title goes to narrow-bandwidth bandpass designs, ported and wide-bandwidth bandpass are next, so they're second most efficient. Sealed, generalls speaking, is going to offer a better midbass transition. Sealed are also going to offer better transient response. Bandpass are essentially a sealed box with a port filter, so to speak. They limit your driver's high-end capabilities. If your midbass response isn't god with your other speakers, bandpass really isn't the best choice for you. Without the midbass response from your other speakers, your system will sound like crap, in short. The ported, generally speaking, will allow you to go low, and into the lower mid-bass respone ranges. They're a tad more versitile in that aspect. Sealed is going to transition better than both. It really depends on you though. What do you want, how much room are you working with, etc.

Those should help you decide which is better suited for you. Lots of useful information in both of those tutorial links. I'm not advocating that any box is better than the other, as all fail in some aspects while they accell in others. None are going to be superior or perform better in all aspects, that's why there's no magic box.
