How to clean cd player?
Hey I tried searching but could not find anything, but anyways, some of my cd's have begun to skip a lot and I think it may be my HU. I have had it about 5 years. Can I use one of those cd cleaners, you know the ones with the little brushes on the cd, or do I need to get one specifically for car HU? Also, right now I have a Kenwood Mp-625 and I am thinking of getting the Alpine CDA-9853. Is this a much better HU than what I already have? Thanks for the info guys...

Most owner manuals say do not use cleaner cds in car decks. don't know why? Seems like it would be okay. But you could try anyway since you're prolly gonna get a new deck anyway. Alpine owns kenwood 10^9999999999999999 times.

yea thats during the time when their decks became ricey and bad quality. I'm sure you could still get some money for it tho. An alpine would be so much better.
Re: How to clean cd player?
A fingerprint, scratch, accumulated dust, or even a hair strand can block the beams of the lens to the cd. These factors can cause the CD player to skip. That’s why you need to clean a CD player on the radio to make sure it will not happen. It's always a good idea to use a can of compressed air, which can be purchased at any electronics store and is commonly used on computers. Now that the button seams are free of dust, lightly wet a microfiber towel with plastic cleaner or water and wipe the tops of the buttons.
