Is this safe?

Should it be safe for me to hook up an Audiobahn A3201T amplifier in my civic with 8 guage wire? It runs about 840 watts rms. The reason i ask is it is already wired and i really don't want to have to rewire it. Thanks

ur going wanna use 4ga with that much RMS power. WIll 8 ga work? yes. but the amp will not be working to its full potential and u should really get the 4ga

It's possible to melt the wire and start a fire somewhere in your car. Unlikely but def. possible.

the fuse will go boom! but dude im runnin 3 amps that pushin (all rms) 350x2@2, 35x4@4, and a 80x2@4, lol = 1000 watts rms, im runnin 2 4 gauges w/ 1 -1.5 farad and 2 -1 farad caps and i still cant turn it all the way up, good luck my friend
