audio set up creating noise!
hi! i just had my audio set up done last week.It does not create any noise when i dont turn on the engine. however, when i switch on the engine, it creates noise. The person who installed my system put a noise reducer behind the HU. i just want to know if there is a way that i can get rid of the reducer? is that a wiring problem and where do you think the problem is? thanks in advance!

take out the reducer, thats stupid. the installer is stupid.
1. make sure the power wires are on one side of the car and rcas on the other.
2. keep power wire away from other wires (speaker wires) behind the deck.
3. make sure ground wires are attached tightly to BARE metal. It also helps to ground the HU separately instead of using the car's ground wire.
4. check the HU instructions for more suggestions. I can look at my alpine book later and tell you more.

Also, try re-routing that the (+) wire running from the battery. Avoid any parts in the engine that may create magnetic feilds. A "noise reducer"? Does it go between the HU and the amp? Sounds like you got ripped off!
i have 2 amps. both are JL, one is connected to a pair JL subwoofers 13" and the other is connected to a pair of MB Quarts 6" and a pair of Diamond 6". but before going to those amps it goes first to the crossover. the crossover is... i dont know the brand (poor quality brand). what should i do? should i do the wirings all over again? by the way, thanks to you guys for helping. and also, should i connect the speakers to the ordinary wirings coming out from the HU or should i use the RCA because the HU has both. thanks again!

rca of course! thats why they have those for a cleaner signal and higher output voltage. you just connect the rcas to your amp and done. Then you connect the speaker wires from the amp to the speakers. You want sound sent from the HU to amp using rcas, then amp sends the signal to the speakers with the regular speaker wires.

what kind of noise are you getting? does it sound like static or like a supercharger whine (which would be alternator whine). try...
sanding down the grounding point to bare metal.
upgrading to better RCA cables. i switched to street wires zero noise wires and that got rid of mine
have power wire go down one side of the car...speaker/rca cables go down another
make sure your amp isnt mounted to close to metal.
