Which amp for my components???
hey I have these components http://www.thezeb.com/p-CDT-Audio-CL...tem-101083.htm and the amp i was using to run them is cutting in and out.
can anybody recommend a good amp to use to power these? thanks. btw im at work dont have time to search at the moment! thanks a TON for the help and suggestions.

It doesnt really matter which brand it is. Just get on that will put out 90w RMS to each speaker. So like a 100x2 RMS amp would work just fine to. U would b getting 100w to each of the speakers continously...

Rep Power: 289 Buy a JL 500/5 one amp for the whole system....gives you 100rms at any ohm load for fronts 25 for rear and 250 for the sub! Just a suggestion since nobody else had one!!!

That amp does 70w RMS at 4ohms to 2 speakers. Do u just wanna amp the front speakers?
Now the answer to ur questions: Yes.
Typically you want ur RMS output of ur amp to be at least 70% of ur RMS rating on ur speakers. So 90/.7 = 63 or the minimum watts that you would need to make ur speakers sound decent. I would say that this would work but ur might wanna get one that does at least 75w x 2 to be safe. You should go with the Rockford Fosgate P3002. It says that it will put out 75w x 2. But the cool thing about RF is that all the amps come with a birth certifiacte stating exactly what the RMS is and it is always higher.. typically 5-10w RMS higher. (I used to work at Best Buy) and I rummaged through all the amps and found a P4004 typically 75w x4 but I found one at 90w x 4 and the beauty of it all is that it cost the same!!! God bless Rockford

97w x 2 at 4 ohms. Yea, that'll work just fine. Enjoy ur system and PM me to let me know how it sounds.
you should try looking at dealtime.com and other sittes like that, aslo try etronics .com.
dealtime.com is mostly good for searching what is available, so you can sort through amps and ****, find what you re looking for.

I would look at jbl or jl or another alpine
order off the net to save big $$$ so stay away from best buy and circuit city or crutcherfield, unless there is a special or sale
And not the 5 channel those are worthless, they re overpriced and usually underpower systems.

and i know to stay the hell away from BB and CC..i was just searching for an amp anywhere i could.
crazy side story though -
i had plans to get a new HU relocation piece made by some company in Fresno, Ca...but my gf made plans w/her family that included me - so i missed my appointment. at this point i had been without music in my car for over 3 months! and i was sick of it! so i decided to take my car to Circuit City (because they were the only people who i thought might install it at 6:30) just to get the damn HU hooked up - then i was going to worry about the custom stuff later. the manager ended up saying they could make me a custom piece and install everything for 175..but i'd have to make an appointment for next week. the whole time though, the installer was b/s'ing with me talking about different ways he could fix it. then finally when his manager left - he said he was just stalling so his manager would leave and he'd fix my car right then and there! he hooked my **** up fat! he used the original custom piece that was a POS and he made it look awesome! he had everything installed and working within an hour! paid him 100 bucks and i was done with it!
then of course the next morning my amp went out

Ur right about the 50w at 2ohms. I didnt read it close enough....

Well, usually you pay more cause it is a 5 channel, and 4 channels are fine, but the mono sub channel usually is not enough to run a quality sub.
I was just saying that you re prob going to be better off getting a four channel amp and a mono amp.
