IPOD with Kenwood Deck

Ok, I tried to pick up with the other thread but I guess I will start my own. My problem is that I just got my ipod set up and I have the kenwood deck and the ipod interface wire. When I plug my ipod in all 970 songs are on disc one and I have to scroll through all to get what I want. I thought that I would be able to scroll be album and then go to the songs in that album. Is that possible or how do some of you have your songs setup so they are easily accessible through the deck. My ipod is disabled when it is plugged in. My only other option I think would be to do the wiring so I can control the ipod.

grenloch101056 is an unknown quantity at this point
i dont have a kenwood HU, but with my pioneer HU and ipod controller you can browse by artist, genere, title, and playlists. Usually i just hit random and drive away, but I can scroll through by those 4 features if needed. Im sure your kenwood has a similar feature

I just called kenwood and I guess the scan button will take me through those options. I just need to play with it more. Thanks for the help.
