Alright, I just wanted to know how I'm supposed to find my control module and get a make & model # for my keyless entry transmitter. Where is it located?? and what does it look like?? is it in the trunk or around the engine...???
I wanted to know whether I could make the lights flash on and off when i press the lock/unlock on the remote. But I need to find out what kind of keyless system i have.
sidenote: I bought this car used and the keyless remote isn't a Honda remote. Doesn't have any brand name on it, just some FCC thing on the back.
So how can i find the keyless system unit on my car?? THANKS

Very little room in a Civic. I would look on the drivers side up underneath (pull off the fuse access panel) Then the passenger side underneath. Look for various color wires that are not covered like the factory wiring. (SRS wiring is in yellow, leave alone)
Go to this site
www.onlyremotes.com
Give them a call and tell them the FCC ID, done deal
OR go here

and enter the FCC ID as described to get the manufacturer

Ok, this is what i have. Audiovox Pursuit Car Alarm... FCC ID:ELVAT8C
Ok, so does this mean my car has some kind of alarm?? Cuz all it does it lock/unlock, there is no sound, no lights that blink on and off. It just locks and unlocks the car. But i do have a button that says "option" on it. Everytime i press it, it doesn't seem to do anything. Does anyone know what this "option" button is for? and is there a way i can get it to beep and make the lights blink when I lock/unlock the car??

lock your doors with the remote and open your door the key and see hwat happens
alarm doesnt have to make noise or flash the lights, those are just options
option is for an option of your choice... remote start, trunk pop, whatever
if you want to get it to beep, try and find the manual for that alarm and try and program it or do the smart thing and take it to an installer and get them to do it becuse you don't know what you are doing. to get the parking light flash, it will probably have to be wired up to make it work, in which case it would need to see an installer anyway, so just cut to the chase and kill 2 birds with 1 stone

also try under the dash( driver side) to the left of the steering column(while facing steering wheel) you will have to lay on your back on the drivers side floor and look up ...also check to see if there is a valet switch somewhere on the panel just above the hood release lever
