Alpine 9835 or Pioneer 8600mp ??
Well, I've decided to sell my DVD deck on ebay....
. So I recently purchased a new deck.
Which deck would you choose?? Alpine 9835 or Pioneer 8600mp??
If you had to buy one of these decks, which one would you choose??
btw, how do I start a poll??

i would go for the dehp960mp over the cda9835 alpine has fixed the glitch in the 9835 none have come back in the past month at the shop i worked at so now it seems to be the quality deck it should be. go with the alpine or up to the 960mp

Im bias on alpine, its just made better in my opinion. Pioneer has alwasy seamed like the poor mans stero casue you buy it at walmart. Not trying to be a hater or nothing. Just like i said Bias on the Alpines.
Sometimes, I can see right through myself ...

If you're getting the Pioneer (which I recommend), get the DEH-P860MP. It's only like a $20 price difference. You get higher quality pre-outs and a longer warranty.

Wow, alpine is seems to be the favourite so far.
I was planning to get the premier 860mp, but I'm looking to buy my deck online. I don't know any website's that are authorized premier line, or alpine dealer. The reason this is important, cause I want the warranty. I could buy the deck from a local store, but it will cost me a lot more from a local store.
I've seen the 8600mp on website's that are authorized pioneer dealers though.

higher end pioneers have a ton of features for sound adjustment. I love my pioneer 940mp but then again alpine has been making some great looking ones with biolite display. And alpine has always been known as #1 for sound quality. Between the two you're choosing from, I would definately get the alpine.

To Megahurtz: "I am a picky B#stard" LOL... Thanks for helping out.
Does anybody know where I could possibly get the alpine 9835 from an online authorized dealer???
cardomain is the only website I like for prices, but they don't have alpine's or the premier line.

is the 9835 still in production?? or is it slowing fading out?? Crutchfield says its not carrying the product. Its not out of stock, they are just not "selling the product" anymore. Also many local stores are not selling this deck anymore.
The 9855 is too much for me. I don't need something like that, and I'm not willing to spend that much on a deck. Alpine 9853 only has 2(v) pre-outs, which I do not like.
Think I'm just going to pick up the pioneer, its easier to find, and I have the valid warranty for a good price. I can get it for $364 shipped, with a valid pioneer warranty.

i would pick the alpine also but dont expect to be able to see ANYTHING on the display during the day..
our cars dash angle sucks for the alpine.. so much glare
btw phuviano: the 9835 is last years model thats why you probably cant find it anymore at some places

i'd definetly go with the /////ALPINE. way better quality and just like some one else said earlier, they're know to be #1. plus if you have an iPod they have the best interface for it. I have the 9833 (i think) i'd have to check. and it works awesome with my iPod i can search files, artists, genres, and playlists (i changed the albums for genres, for those that know what im talking about) plus all the cars that i've had (3) have had alpine and they work awesome. what i like too is that if you have an alpine amp, you can control and monitor it straight from the deck. it lets you change frequencies and equilize it.
LIKE I SAID GO WITH /////ALPINE.
I like pioneer but only for cheap speakers that sound good. other than that i wouldnt go with them for a deck. I feel just like the other guy, poor man's radio.
cruchfield stopped carrying the 9835 because its last year's model. i got mine on january for half the price. they had a clearence on them because alpine wanted them to only carry the 05 models. I dont want to recommend ebay but it looks like your only choice.
good luck

i have a pioneer 940mp and don't feel like poor man lol. It has more features than kenwoods flagship deck and most others out there. Its pretty awesome to have a 13 band eq, sound fields, time alignment, BBE/octaver, etc. Plus I still think pioneer has the best deck display. Can't beat organicEL altho alpine is catching up with that. But for the first poster, I don't really like that pioneer. Pay the extra for the alpine for sure.

if you cant find the 9835 you can always get this years version of it which is the 9855... very similar unit, but it does not have the vdrive internal amplifier and it has a new feature called glidetouch which is actually pretty neat. it is a very nice deck, however i will warn you in advance that there has been problems with the glidetouch feature failing.
