RIght now i have three 12 inch type rs in my car with type r coaxials running off my jbl 80.4 and and type s tweeters on the way(wanna be component when i wire them together)....but i was just bored and i kinda want to add one more....it would put out a 1 ohm total load which will work fine iwth my jbl 1200.1...and im pretty sure ill be able to power them cause with three, im only at 1/3 up on the gain....so with four i calculated they would be getting around 350-375 rms with my current voltage......the only think is i have to make a custom box....should i add one more type r(btw older model 300rms apiece)...

Go for it!!!

BTW, how much airspace are you giving each Type R? Is your box ported/vented?

i would not go with a high end JL sub with that amp.... the SQ from JBL amps are terrible.

i used to have 2 JL Audio W6v2's powered by a JL Audio 1000/1 amp. It was loud as ****, until it got stolen. Right now Im running a single Alpine Type R 12" 2ohm+2ohm sub. I have the ported box that Alpine made specifically for this sub, and its rediculous how loud it is. No one can believe how much bass that one 12 is making. Im using a JL Audio 500/1 for it, which is a little too much power. Unless you want to shatter windows, lol, stick with the 3. Get a custom ported enclosure made, and it will sound like you have 4 of those ****'s. Then you'll be set. btw, get rid of that amp. lol

well im been reading up on the enclosures and i'm still trying to figure out the diffence in vented and ported....so if someone could help me out with taht, that woudl be nice. i was thinking of doing a vented setup because i was talking to a guy and he says they dont need to be tuned like ported and i dont want to worry about that frequency stuff....if it's too much of a issue ill just end up sticking with sealed because i am happy with them sealed...
