Kicker Amp help, it turns on and off continously.

Kicker KX800.4

So ive had this amp for about 3 years now. Its ALWAYS worked flawlessly. I use "amp 2" of the Amp to power 1 JL subwoofer.

THe Amp and subwoofer was working fine sunday morning on the way to the baech. About 1 hour into the highway driving, the sub stopped working (kinda). WIthout being able to check it i just turn off my headunit and all problems stopped.

Now my problem is that the AMP wont turn on fully. THe red Protection LED comes on steady, while the green power LED pulses on and off about every 3-5 seconds. The amp turns on and off between those 3-5 seconds and the subwoofer gets that "LAST BUMP" similiar to when you shut the car off.

Whats going on?!?! ALl my fuses, ALL my grounds, ALL my cables were rechecked this morning. Everything is good. MY amp just wont turn on properly!

anyone every experience this? SUggestionss?

sounds blown to me, I would take it out and bench test it! use a 12volt supply(car battery will work) and run a set of rca's to it and a test speaker for every channel.

Could it be i blew the Amp becuase of my gain being too high?

My gain dial ON the amp goes from 0 to 11. I also have a "BASS CONTROL DIAL", its a dial you bring into the cabin to control bass output. it also goes from 0 to 11.

Being as though they went to the same numbers, it seemed like the bass control dial controled gain as well.

So what i did was turn the gain on the AMP all the way to 11 and i used the Dial in the cabin to adjust the amount of "gain" the sub got. I set it to halfway no more then 3/4 in the cabin.

I think this may have been my problem. Running the AMP on full 11 gain for a little too long in heat.
That and the AMp being 4 OHM stable and i was running the sub at 3 OHMS.

POOR STUPID ME!!!!!!
i think i gotta send it to kicker for repair.
