All of the displays work correctly - the CD timer runs as if the disc is playing, the XM does not read NOSIGNAL, and the FM tuner seems to work fine. But no audio is going to the speakers. Any opinions?

I only have the 2 fronts in, but no...I don't take my car apart, that's why I have an installer. What are the odds of both speakers having come undone?
What do you have in your system? Amps for the front speakers? Aftermarket front speakers? If you just put in a HU, everything else should be fine, the stock stuff. I'd check the wiring harness.
Last time I had this much fun some furniture got broken!

take it back to the installer. Why not do it yourself? Ripping a car apart is easy and fun. scary the first time but now its really easy and interesting.
Check to see if your HU has an internal amp shut off my alpine does. you need to give mroe info such as the tye of HU. When this happened ie just randomly, after an install etc. if you have a multimeter you can see if any signal is coming off the back and that will be your first and best bet to see what the prob is. Its possible but unlikely that the amp is gone it happened in an old alpine i had and i had a pioneer that the preouts for teh front were bad and i had no front found. Hope this helps

Problem solved - as it turns out, the main fuse to the amp had blown. My setup is finally done, no more $ spent on audio...I kept the SL65's up front, got a JL 300/4, and two channels of it are feeding my 12w1v2. The trunk is Dynamatted and stuffed with poly fiber...no outside bass rattle at all.
