Question Bass skips...Can this be the amp or the subs?

I have a base Pioneer radio, RF punch in the front, RF power in the back and 2 10s shittie subs connected to a 4c Phoenix Gold Ti Amp, but one of the channels is burned hence why I'm only using it for the subs. The subs are bridged and when they did the install, everything was working fine, but now the base kicks in whenever it wants. Can this be the subs(which are crappy) or an issue with the amp??

The amp is a Phoenix Gold Titanium series and the subs like I said are cheapy...
No...BestBuy, Circuit City or GoodGuys didn't install it, I don't trust them, never will. Anyways...my buddy's cousing who has plenty of experience and ran a shop for 6 years did the whole installation...all the cables are fine, already checked them.
The problem happens when I'm driving and also when the car's idle. The bass doesn't always start all of the sudden with the music which it should, it starts sometimes but not always, then it gets cut off when I'm driving and comes back whenever it wants...

make sure your also using 4-gauge, those 8 gauge wires will go on you real quick. I had 8gauge wires powering one sub and amp and the inline fuse kept blowing so i swaped to 4-gauge wire with a glass fuse and never happend

The PG Ti Elite amps have a delay in them that allows them a few seconds before they turn on. This is usually to avoid thumps, snaps, crackles, or pops when you trun your music on. I noticed it because I have a Ti elite going to just my highs, and my bass turns on a few secounds before my highs. The delay is pretty long though. Maybe something is wrong with the amp (a loose connection), especially since there are already other problems with the amp. You may want to send it to PG for a repair...they usually charge a flat fee, and that way you can get everything fixxed.
