I need some educated opinions?!

I have been out of the car audio scene for awhile, and I was hoping someone could help me. A guy on a local forum is selling four dual 4ohm 2003 model solo baric l7 subs for 100 dollars a pop. Is this a good buy? Will these hit quick enough for indie/rock kind of music, and how much power will I need for them? Also, I already have a 55 watt kenwood deck with 4 5v preouts, so running an amp aint no thang. Thanks a lot!

great price, my buddy has a rockford fosgate 6001 amp(600rms 1800max watts) powering it and it sounds excellent, but we listen mostly to rap, so i don't know about rock.

By now you've heard it's a good price. But I do not believe they are very good for rock however. They are somewhat transitional, if you are mostly a rap guy and play the occasional rock song, but IMO they don't stand up well to mostly rock styles. Although the old school solobaric rounds were maybe the best transitional woofer I've heard. If you want' a personal opinion, I'd stay with something tighter if you are a rock guy. Look into some 10w6s or I've heard CDT CL 10"s are nice for real cheap, around $89 new.

^agreed. i have the solobaric L5 and im a hiphop fan and it satisfys me. its great for heavy metal and rap/hip-hop, but not the greatest for rock.
it is a great price though, but for what size kicker solobaric L7? im guessing 10" ?

if its the 12, shiet, ill buy and sell it to another for profits. thats if its new of course.

consider about the sub enclosure as well. the sub box is probably more important than the actual sub when your trying to achieve something.

Yea, I was kind of thinking that it might be too much bass for the music I listen to, and it is going to resonate a lot when it hits. Just thinking it might be a really good buy and worthwhile. Thanks a lot guys.
