Amp question?

I am going to be running 2 12" infinity perfect 12.1D subs. I want to power them with enough power, 350rms 1400 peak 4 ohms. I want a good amp but i dont wanna spend $1,000 on an amp. I cant find any subs that are 4 ohm and that have enough power.

So the question is...

How many amps should I run to power my 2 subs with enough constant power and to power my speakers. Where can I get good amps at a decent price?

You need to decide on how you want to wire up the subs.
Theres so many amps you can use because with 2 4ohm dvc subs, you can have them wired up at 2ohms x2, 1ohm x 1, or 4ohm x 1.

I'd look for a nice 1ohm stable mono amp that's close to 700rms @ 1ohm.
Or a 2 channel amp that can pump out 350rms @ 2ohms x 2.

ok so it would be ok to run a less ohm'd amp, if that is the correct terminology lol.

Yes that's okay.

An amp running at 700rms watts @ 4 ohm x 1 would more than likely run 1400rms watts @ 2ohm x 1.

So getting an amp running at 700rms watts @ 2ohm x 1 would be more cost effective (cheaper) but still allow you to get the same power.

for wires, what kind should I get like is there a specific brand that is the "best" or something. Im gonna do monster cables for RCA's but do they make the rest of the wires too?

Also I think I found an amp but its RMS is 370 and 4ohms, is running 370rms gonna kill my subs which are rated at 350rms. I will be playing them everyday for atleast 3-4 hours a day.

Just make sure the wires are thick enough to handle the power.

I really don't see a difference between expensive Monster Cables and the generic stuff on eBay. 8 gauge speaker wire is 8 gauge speaker wire.

I just don't think most people will notice the difference between one brand and another.

No one runs anything high end and crazy enough to hear a noticeable difference, if any.

don't worry man, my best friend has the same subs you got, perfect 12.1 and he gave them close to 500w rms to each, for a while... those subs are definately underrated. 370W should be perfect.

8 gauge wire to the subs and wire them up however you choose. the 370rms is not a worry when you have them wired together.
