Double din

Does anyone know if it is possible to make one out of plexiglass?I was thinking it might look good to have a clear one and put some neons behind it.

Of course it's possible. Give it a try. Just remember one thing in your planning stages. If you use clear plexi or Lexan, you'll be able to see what's behind it all the time. So, you've got to hide the Neons and make a backdrop to be aesthetically pleasing during the day. My advice is to use the Small 3" neons and hide them off to the sides. Then make a backdrop around the clear frame and use whatever background suits you best. Using the color of whatever neons you have, will make the neons look much brighter and deeper when they are on.

Actually DIN stands for "Deutsches Institut für Normung" which translates to German Institute for Standardization. It's just like ISO (Internation Standards Organization).

In other words, a DIN sized radio is a standard sized radio that DIN..uh...standardized. The cage is what holds the radio in place.
