Rep Power: 262 Help with choosing a capacitor
I'm about to run a 400w RMS system (just something simple and fun). Would i just need a .5 Farad capacitor, or should i just go up to the 1.0 Farad just for the heck of it? Also, i'm having a time finding them online, well, one's i like for that matter. Who makes a good one? Something with a digital read-out and cool neons! (i'm such a ricer ....jk)
This would be for a single amp setup.
Thanx

The best bang for the buck would be Lightning Audio's Strike caps. They discharge very very fast and a 1.0F cap is only about $100.
1F on sale for $70 at sounddomain.com
http://www.cardomain.com/item/LITLS1003
1/2 F for $50
http://www.cardomain.com/item/LITLS0503
1F with digital readout for under $100!!!
http://www.cardomain.com/item/LITLSD1003
thats awesome crutchfield wants about $160 for those!
You can get better caps but not for the price.

Rep Power: 262 /\/\ Is lightening audio really that good? I know their subs aren't worth $hit.
How's this sound?
Power Acoustik POWPC2.4FN 2.4 FARAD CAPACITOR WITH NEON.....as seen here:

Is 2.4 Farad too excessive for my needs?
I LOVE www.SavingLots.com
Ordered from them MANY times!

Rep Power: 0 OK, first off I work for Best Buy, but a customer bought a Tsunami 2 farad digital cap at Circuit City and had us install it. I am close to giving up my extensive employee discount on the Rockford caps we sell to go buy the Tsunami. The blue LED's did it for me since I am doing all blue lighting with my car.

Rep Power: 258 k, there are no capacitors that are necessarily better than any other. Reason being? there are two companies that make capacitors and wholesale them to companies like fosgate, lightning, MA, etc. they put their logos and sell them. Having said that, I personally would go with a Optima Blue top in the back, run a positive from the front to the back, then ground the negative of the optima. I guarantee it will outperform any capacitor on the market. U will also be safe if u want to upgrade ur system later, since bass is an addiction.
