Powering two amps
Powering two amps
Instead of using a distribution block, can I just connect the power cable from the 2nd amp to the power connection of the first amp? In effect piggy backing off the first? 1st amp has 4 gauge power connector that is connected to the battery. 2nd amp is for components and uses 8 gauge cable. I was just wondering.

I think I'll do it myself. I no longer trust em. Next question is since most distribution blocks are 4awg in and 8 out. How do I go about connecting 4awg cable from the out of the block to the sub amp? Sub amp takes 4 gauge. component amp takes 8 gauge cable

u dont need to
most amps are fine on 4/8.. the reason it says 4 is if u run direct from batt you should run 4
but if u got 4 into the box (which they allready ran)
then u can go 8 into the two. you should be fine
also depending ont he D-block you may be able to wedge 4awg into the out. i can on some that i have.

Here is a three way "T" distribution block, with 4 gauge in, and 4 gauge outs. Made by Stinger, comes in gold or platinum. I currently use two pf them in my car.
STEE4 (gold)
STEE4PT (platinum)
If getting the 4 gauge to work with the amp inputs is a problem, maybe these Stinger items will work. They convert 4 gauge to 8 gauge.
