Need Help

I installed some components and woofer over the weekend. Here are the problems.

1. The volume will sometimes just increase and decrease by itself without me adjusting anything

2. The sub has this sound I can only describe as taking a sheet of paper and hitting it. It's only audible when you are close to the sub. In the cabin I do not hear it at all. Is this normal? Sub is Elemental Designs 11kv2

Is the volume issue amp or head unit related? Never had any problems with the HU before.

The components are amped yes. Amp turn out? What's that? RCAs are twisted. Came with the Rockord Frosgate amp kit. The sub is brand new bought directly from Elemental Designs.
