New audio setup begins!!!(Updated!!!)
New audio setup begins!!!(Updated!!!)
Well after much thought and delay, I'm finally starting my rear audio work. Going to start with Sound deadening and then build a custom trunk for my 12" and 2 amps. The plan is to have a clean look but also be functional which means that the tire will still be in the trunk. But I will post pics as I go along. My audio setup will be:
Headunit- Alpine CDA-9833
Fronts- JL XR component system
Rears- JL VR 6X9's
Amps- JL 500\1 for sub
Alpine 360\4 for fronts and rears
Sub- old style Kicker Solo Baric 12"
(replaced with JL 12" W7 next year)
Stage 1: Sound deadening-
Rears- Before
Rears- After

Back Finished

Trunk- After 1st layer
[

Trunk- After 2nd layer

Trunk- Finished with Deadening

Stage 2: The joy of Fiber glassing
Well this part took longer than i thought. Mainly because I got sidetracked and put in rsx seats, painted my interior panels(still not done with that) and lowered my car. This stage included:
taking out trunk springs(for gas shocks to be put in)
new trunk floor out of mdf
2 amp enclosures
new sub box
Getting trunk ready for carpeting
Trunk:

Sub Box:
Next: Final Stage
Cut out Spaces in amp enclosures for wires to go through
Install Trunk gas shocks
Carpet trunk
Glass rear deck and carpet
Install headunit
Run New wires
wire up everything and that should be it

OMG! lol your nuts dude, that **** better not rattle. im going to just go crazy with sprayfoam on the rear deck and then a lil in the deck lid, plus some behind carpet in trunk, then dynamat a few different areas. lets see the finished product soon
LOL, armstrong is HD brand isnt it? theyre specialize in vinyl tiles....LOL....ingenious.
that thing has to be 1/8" thick, huh? pretty thick to work w/ isnt it?
why didnt you pick up some maskin tape? those duct tapes gives off residues/stickie craps.

yeah no rattle anywhere. sounds real good. All the noise I hear is from the doors forward. So I figure once I do the doors and under the dash I should be ready to go. I'm replacing my beige interior with black so I got to take out my dash for that anyway.

thats a good question. I'm sure all that material will slow it down some but right now it's not a noticeable differance. But with all the wood and other materials that are going to go into this install, I wasn't too worried about the weight. Lol, my car is slow enough as it is.

Besides, it's a stock Civic so it barely gets out of it's own way anyway.

with the color scheme i'm going with, black would look a lot better than what I got now. Plus the black rsx seats I ordered will be in next week. It sucks that everytime someone says they would rather have beige, they live like 400 miles away
