Where did you order your RSX's seats and how much did you pay for them? I've been trying to find a good deal on them without bankrupting me.

I'm actually trading my blue and black racing seats for them. But i'm paying the shipping for both ways. I've been tying to get them for months so it's a fair trade to me. But the best ways to find some are either ebay or clubrsx.

plywood is great as long as you are not making a box with it... mdf is heavier than a son of a bitch and plywood is lighter than ****, so it keeps the weight down, and there is no real reason to use MDF when wood is only needed for cosmetics and not strength, unless you have a reason to?

I know. I paid $100 for the whole sheet of mdf so I'm going to use it as long as it will work instead of buying more wood just so it will be lighter. With all that I'm putting in, I'm really not worried about the weight

I forget how much it was total for the sheet, about 25 or 30 I think. The total for everything I bought to do my trunk was right at 90. So no the sheet wasn't 100 by itself

I agree, please tell me that is not duck tape. If it is, I applaud you on your work so far and also think you are insane. Also, might recomend puting some tap on your paint when glassing, also if you are glassing the rear deck in place, tape the window.

I dont know how many times i have said this but yes that is duct tape. It was used to smooth out the edges for when I glass over it. If everyone would rather me get painters tape or something to that effect rather than duct tape then please let me know. It's not like any of that will ever be showing in the first place. And the sound deadening material is stuck to the metal. Every layer was heavily glued down, first to the metal, then to the layer under it. I can promise you that stuff isn't going anywhere and it does and excellent job and reducing sound. But I guess that doesn't matter since I didn't spend several hundred on fatmat or dynamat. Just imagine how different everyone would be talking if I used dynamat instead. But thats how a lot of people are on here. They think it wont work since it's not super expensive. so dont diss it until you try it BRO

I see you have made some progress. That's good. So far everything looks like it's coming along. I'm awaiting some further pics. The only thing I can see that I might poke at a bit, is the armstrong SD material. It seems that after all is said and done, you havne't spent much less than you would have if you'd bought some nice Edead on ebay. 100Sq ft of edead is equivelant to about $83. Edead is the stickiest sound deadener I have ever seen and I'd say the most effective I've used. It's easy to work with with, cuts nicely and contours very well. The armstrong you ended paying what, $88 with the spray adhesive?? You ended up with an inferior deadening product, harder to work with due to thickness and much more of a PITA because you had to apply your own adhesive. Furthermore, although the Anderson stuff may stop rattles, how effective is it at preventing resonation? Does it prevent pressure sound levels from being drawn into trunk panels? I'm sure the jury is still out. Either way, it just seems like a less efficient way than using Edead, that's all. No big deal, just an FYI. Other than that, keep it comin' Looks like it'll be a very nice design!!

your pictures show that you got corners of the armstrong flaring all, up it doesnt look stuck down well, its looks like it took a lot of time having to glue it all down and end up looking like that. it doesnt even look likes it going with the countours of the metal panels.

and why do you have to have smooth edges anyway? it doesnt matter.

its not the duct tape that bothers me, i use duct tape then masking tape over that when im protecting things that i glass over.

i was just saying its the worst ive seen but if it works it works. im all about attention to detail so wheni se that i cringe.

but thats me not you so im glad it worked out for you. good luck on your project

Well this is my first time doing any kind of work like this. If you see any flaring parts then those were glues down after those pics were taken. I didn't expect these first parts to look that great because I'm going to focus on making it look good once i'm almost done and I start tying everything together. The rear deck looks the worst in my opinion and I cant finish it until I get some black seat belts. But once thats done and it's glassed and carpeted it should look good.

The wood I bought was a certain type of mdf. It might look like plywood but it's mdf. At least thats what I was told and how the wood was labeled.
