Ipod mini install?

I wanted to hook up my Ipod Mini directly with those monster wires they sell to hook up to your home stereo, I have a pioneer avh-p6500dvd by the way...I thought I could just hook it up to the brain and go to aux. and it would work but it didnt...Should it work or is there another way to hook itt up directly?

Is the aux input turned on? I had to turn mine on. Also, make sure that you are hooked into the aux input, not the output for the amp. I have a regular ipod hooked up to my pioneer deck through the "brain" and it works fine.

isn't there output rca's and input rca's? Make sure you're using the right ones.

Yeah the AUX input should work just fine. Just remember to turn the input on!

I just looked up your deck on crutchfield and it said that the aux input is optional (meaning that you need an add-on accessory to make it work). My pioneer deck is the same way. You need to get something like this: Pioneer CDRB10. There are also others that allow you to hook up satelite radio and a cd changer.

do you know for sure if that is the exact part I will need to hook it up....Oh and what are those outputs coming from the brain(or whatever its called if there another name for it) for.......Just for amps? The guy that installed it said I could hook up a playstaion to it there so they must be inputs right?

Pioneer decks need the IP-Bus Interface cable to make AUX audio inputs. I don't know how your specific model works but once the cable is hooked up turn the head unit off, hold down the function button and a menu should come up that will allow you to select AUX: on or off. Good luck
