Need help with speaker I.D. What infinitys are these?

I have infinity 60.5cs in my front doors and the 6.5 speakers are either blown or the wires came loose because they stopped working, I took it up to best buy and they said they are blown, but the speakers play absolutely nothing, and the way they stopped working it seemed like loose wires because sometimes it would be playing normal forever but then all of sudden would go real soft, and then kick back on after a few seconds. I havent gotten behind the doors yet (been waiting for some nice weather) but if they do end up being blown i am looking at replacements. I want to keep the same tweeters because im not sure how other speakers will fit in that hole and I was happy with how the set sounded before they went out. The tweeters work perfectly still so Im looking to either just buy a whole complete set of 60.5cs but if i just want to replace the 6.5s what could i get in its place? which infinity speaker would be equivalent? could i put 2 ways or 3 way 6.5s there and keep the tweeters hooked up? any suggestions?

heres a pic of the speakers

Since it is a componet set then you will have to buy a whole new componet set since the crossover controls the entire set! Do you remember seeing those samll black boxes with screw terminals on them? Yeah those are the crossovers! They have a nominal impedence which is only met by utilizing the speakers that they were desinged for! Any 2 or 3 way speaker would screw up the impedence and damage the speakers and the crossovers! I am positive that there is no replacment for the midrange driver in a componet set! The whole set must be replaced! Sorry but your gonna have to buy a whole new set! If you bought em from a retail store get insurance on them so that if you blow them u can just bring em back and the store will replace them for free! Another option is to get rid of the crossover and just get separate speakers! You should be able to leave the tweeters where they are but you will need to buy some 2 or 3 ways for the door! Thats the setup im running except i am using my factory speakers! but this way if you blow a speaker you will just have to replace the one speaker rather than the entire set! If you've got subs and tweeters honestly your factory door speakers will sound fine! Thats just my take though! Hope this is of some assistance to you! Good Luck!

yeah man for sure, i know about the crossovers, i have them tucked in the open spot under the ebrake in the center console. If i got 2 way or 3way 6.5s for the front doors and kept those same tweeters, could i get an aftermarket crossover that i can keep back by the amp?

Well, judging by the black xovers and raised dustcap, I'd say they are Infinity KAPPA 60.5CS. You blew the mid on one side? First thing you should do is to email parts@harman.com <parts@harman.com and ask if you can buy a replacement driver. I know Boston, Quart, Focal, Etc. allow you to do this. Give it a shot. IF not, replace the entire component set with either a duplicate set or something better. Don't worry about saving your tweets if your mids are blown, the tweets are pretty much worthless anyway.

Oh, and whatever you do, do not put 3 way speakers in with an additional set of tweets. Those speakers play to high as it is, adding another tweet will be murder.

yeah i know what kind of speakers they are, but i wanted to know what mdel the mids were because those are whats blown. as for upgrading the mids, or tweeter hole sizes universal? i dont want any gaps if i accidentally by smaller tweeters, but since they are all 1inch i think they would all fit.

YOu mean are all the INfinity tweeters the same? Or tweeters in general? Different brands have different size tweeters. Could be 3/4", 5/8" 1" or 25mm, etc. I usually just buy what speakers I like and worry about making em fit afterward. Are you amping these speakers?

i had an amp on them and i think thats what blew them, i will be amping them and enjoyed the sound i got from them before the mids blew. I was asking an obvious quesion i answered myself which do each companies say 1" tweeter have the same mounting hole size and the next companies? Ill probably just get this same set again and a better amp then the piece of sh.. i had before.
