Above the spare, I don't think you'll even get 6.5cu.

you have morethan 7cu. ft. of air space you just have to take your time
and build your box in the trunk, or you might not be able to get it in.

what subs and how many are you using.

There is about 3.5 cubes available by glassing into the spare tire well. I have a 5 cubic foot box of all MDF in my trunk and it *barely* fits, so anything larger will have to go into the spare tire well.

actually i happed to measure to day and without the spare tire there is some were around 10 cu ft actually i didnt measure in the corners near the backend because i have battery boxes there and didnt feel like pulling them out. so actually to answer my own question and for anyone else's there is a bit of room even though it doesnt look like it but its there.

yes there is the ROOM there for a box, but the largest you can fit with 100% MDF is going to be right around 5 cubic feet, if you did all fiberglass you could probably get away with about 8.

honda claims 12 cubes. no idea if that is with or without the spare well. thats gross however, so if you go the MDF route, you can expect far less.

using the spare well with a 2 piece box, you cna easily get 7 cubes. you may not be able to fire in the direction you want, though. You would be severely limited by dimension, in an attempt to maximize box volume in every way possible.

Yeah the only thing the honda quote is good for is if you happen to drive your Civic off a bridge into a lake, expect that there will be roughly 12 cubes of water in your trunk

I'm glassed into the tirewell and my box sits about 4" above where your carpet normally is and I'm just over 4 cu ft. Check my pics.

That's funny, I didn't see the seems at first. Someone needs to clean the friggin' monitors at my work

I agree, stylish seam work. BTW, so far, I've seen your pimp-suit-turned-trunk purple suede. Your purple center console. How 'bout a shot of the exterior so I know what I'm looking at. Also, what'chya got in those big-*** kick panels?

hard to see, but Looks nice. That's a cool color. Of course the diamonds have good midbass, that's like a 2 cu foot box for a kick you got there. LOL, nice work though.
