Question Hiding external GPS receiver

So i want to wire a GPS receiver outside the car to get better reception, anyone have a good idea on how to do it nicely?

so far i thought of the following option.
1. get one of those antenna that goes on top of the roof and stuff the receiver in there, but I don't wanna drill a hole on my roof.
2. drill a hole in the trunk, and put the receiver there. but then wouldn't it be easy to steal and i don't know how to place it so i would look good. 'cause it would be kinda odd to have a box in th middle of the trunk.
3. stuff the receiver into a spoiler. (someone else's idea). but which spoiler would actually fit a gps receiver and what would the receiption be when its under coats of paint?

TIA

hide it directly under the hood or like under the front/rear bumper

thought about that, but doesn't it get hot there? and it probably would get some signal noise there.

if your putting it under the hood, you may aswell keep it in the car. Your trying to get a clear view of the sky,

Perhaps put the atenna on the passenger side of the windshield. My buddy uses his pocket pc w/ external gps attena and puts it on the dash, works fine. If you want to get fancy bondo that **** onto your dashboard.

I second this option. Under the bumper or under the hood will not work because anything metal will reflect the gps signal and you will not be able to get a fix on any satellite. I think on top of the rear high mount brake light will work. Its inside the car and won't be very conspicuous.
