bro get 12w7 and 1000/1. this is the best setup i have ever heard. I had rockford hx2's. Kicker L7's and mtx before none of them even close to how good this setup sounds. You have to hear to believe how good and loud this thing gets. I spent $1600 in this system and loving every beat of it so far. I will always get JL subs and amp from now on. LOOk at my pics in the first page. Oh ya when you do buy 12w7 get sound advice to build you a box. They build my right to the spec.

A 1000/1 will pound your car and make you want to cry. A 500/1 will kick the crap out of the W7 but nothing like a 1000/1. 500/1 = cheaper and still loud and clean. 1000/1 = amazing!

anything 500 watts or higher is gunna pound a W7 but For less money buy one W7 and ONE 1000/1. Its probably going to hit harder.

If you want a killer setup and dont need the W7 name, 2 W6v2's would be as loud/louder as a W7(and maybe a little clearer) hooked to a 1000/1 or 500/1 or like I have 2 W3v2's with a 500/1 and any more and the spoiler will seriously vibrate too hard and crack. I worry about my rear windshield too since It starting to stretch the black molding stuff that keeps it sealed from flexing so much.

AWESOME setup for <$1000

i was able to isolate the rattling of my trunk to the gap that exists between the trunk lid and the top of the bumper (the same plane the latch is on). so i went to ace hardware and got "100% rubber" weather stripping (1/2 in thick) and put it on the "troubled" areas. the loud rattling that sounded like someone was in the trunk kicking it is now gone, and the only rattling that really occurs now only seems to happen at certain frequencies. when it does happen, its now the top of the trunk that more or less just vibrates. im thinkin of gettin some of that dynamat xtreme to solve that problem. ill take pics tomorrow to show you what im talking about.

yea it might be ghetto, but for <$5 it certainly helped alot.

skiboard is on a distinguished road

I got a 10w7 in factory box, It's too loud that I have to sell it
well, this is best setup that I had but I can not offord any amps at the moment and hell broke so I have to let this baby go.
how much should I sell it for?

also, if I wanna buy an amp for this, should I go for 1000/1 or 500/1
it's 10 inch sub btw. (it still takes all of my trunk space up it's huge!)

So yea i realize a 1000/1 amp would run a 12w7... but wouldn't that be overkill? Would getting 2 10w7 be better? or maybe 500/1 with 2 10w6's? Like im just curious what would be the most effecient, not wasting power. or subs.

a 500/1 jl amp will bump real fine, its personal preference.

match up the rms ratings on the amp and the sub(s). i play it safe and go a little below the rms rating of the subwoofer cause i know some amps can be underrated (kicker/rockford fosgate/etc)

Memphis? That looks like one big SPL joke.
