Impressed by my Alpine 9833!
So, I decided to hook up my laptop via my KCA 121B AI interface cable to my Alpine 9833. I did this because I am gearing up to install a complete car-computer - I dislike the word Carputer for some reason - and I wanted to gauge the sound quality of mp3s played through a phone-to RCA-to AINet connection. First, let me tell you that I definitely took into consideration the fact that the laptop only had a headphone jack and not a true Output like a good quality sound card or even ac-97 onboard sound. That in mind, the quality was absolutely incredible. Very negligable loss in quality! I would be perfectly happy with this quality now, if it gets better with the actual car computer I install, hell yeah! Just wanted to give ol' 9833 a shout out and let every one know how good of a job Alpine did with the Aux. That, plus the file search feature and the 512 adjustable color display, make this HU real hard to beat.

so, with the 9833, do you have to program in all the names of titles and text for every cd for all the songs? because i have not played one cd, bought or burned, that as shown the band name or song titles yet. (i've listened to about 5 cds so far) thanks
Vic's almost done... thats sorta depressing...

I dont know for shure, but I read that it reads ID3 tags on mp3/wma files, in order for them to display you need to use a program such as Nero that has the abbility to burn that info onto the disk and the HU should read it automaticly, I have a Sony Explode (Old one) and that is how it displays on mine...
