factory speaker upgrade
factory speaker upgrade
i dont know a whole lot about stereos, but if you are to upgrade your stock speakers to new ones no you need to run an amp with them or will they work good with the factory wires? i already have a head unit and subs, but i want to upgrade all the speakers.
I'm not really sure what you're asking.
If you put in new speakers, unless you're running a ton of power, in most cases, teh stock wiring is fine.
You don't need a separate amplifier [although it's recommended, atleast a small 2 channel for the front], the HU should be able to power it alright. This also depends on which speaker you choose as well. Some sound better than others with less power.
And, just as a personal note, I'd suggest spending a little more on just a nice pair of front speakers and a 2 channel amp, while leaving the rear stock speakers powered off the HU.

That depends on how much $$$ you want to spend and how good you want it to sound. For starting out, you can just buy new speakers and they will definitely sound better/last longer than your stock ones, if you want it to get any better from there, then go out and spend the $$$ on another amp/wires/everything else involved in upgrading. It's all a matter of personal preference but you will notice a difference after switching out your stock speakers.

I'd stay stock in the back, and ran off the HU to keep from drowning out the fronts, and throwing off the imaging (which is horrible in the stock location, I digress). Unless you get new fronts with a low rms rating, why waste money getting new speakers to run off the deck? The stock speakers are designed to run off of deck power, theyl'[l sound as good as any other speaker you put in there off deck power. Definantly amp new speakers.
As for fosgate components. Their components are lacking very much in teh midbass department. I've seen several sets of different lines, every one of them reminded me of infinity's, piercing highs, and lacking mid frequency flexability. You can go with their components, sure, but is brands matching that big of a deal? You're not going to see them anyway, unless you take the grille off the door. I'd go with something else to cover sub to tweet gap.
