Try reading the sound deadening sticky. Remove teh pressure vent (it's plastic) and fiberglass the opening (what I did), or tape it shut (what a lot of others did). Then deaden the tag (adding 1/4 inch thick by 1 inch wide, or another size) do the latch tightening (by moving it) DIY, that should eliminate lots of rattle. From there begin with foaming the trunk lid and dampening it. Then move onto dampening the rear deck next (taking exxtra care around the third brake light). From there foam the large gaps in there, spray rubberized undercoating if you desire (which I'd recommend) and mat dampen the large panels last.

I'm pretty sure all of them have thm, as it equalizes cabin pressure when opening/closing doors, or that's the design of it anyway.

The rattle you speak of I get as well, and my vent is sealed. I think on my car it's part of the body rattling against itself...I cant seem to figure out how to fix it, so I just deal with it. It's all good though, I don't bump my subs loud much anymore unless i'm at a comp.

Mystic, have you tried fiberglassing it shut. If you satill want the air to be able to get in and out, you can always drill holes in it, and add a piece of screen to the outside or inside by fiberglassing it on there. Just a thought. The vent it all plastic, and ratles everywhere it touches anything. There are also moving parts in there so you get teh combination of those rattling too. Shitty design if you ask me.

is there a way to put some felt around the contact points to make it absorb the rattle and still keep its functionality.

Foam on the back of the tag is what I suggested earlier. Weather stripping foam to be exact. Works like a charm.

Its either neoprene or rubber strips of foam that are sticky on one side, used to seal windows and stuff in the home. You have it on the edges of your car doors as well...it's that black rubber tube that runs along the side, except thats not weather strip foam, it's weather strip rubberized tube.

If youre movie g 10-15 mph somewhat of a terrible road service and hear this rattling sound the rear shocks have bumper stops. I think they originally are glue in place but over time and weather along with the vehicle up & down on a lift they come out of place. If that's it you need to replace them. I replaced my front and rear ones was driving me insane... All good now tho
