speaker amps, recommendations

i got a polk component set up front 6.5"
and some jbl gto speakers 3-ways 6x9 in rear

their both 100rms and 4ohms. im seeking for a great speaker 4 ch amp that will make these speakers clear, loud, and somewhat bassy. ive heard from friends telling me i shouldnt invest too much into a better speaker amp since its just speakers. that i should just buy some decent 4channel amp like kenwood, jcv, or those low budget brand amps. any inputs on this?

im willing to spend $70 on a amp or around that range for my speakers.

from what you've posted before, that is nowhere around your price range. 7x as much as you're willing to pay, to be more exact. Anyways, 50w rms / channel is not enough for polk components. I give mine approx. 90 rms, and they sound great...

I have an audiobahn a8000t intake series. Puts out lots of power, but you can do better for the money. It tends to overheat if you place it sideways, or on the sub box.

did you use theAB a8000t amp to power your subs or speakers? my buddy has the exact same amp powering 2 kicker comp 15" and they slap pretty hard IMO. im thinking of running the AB intake amp to just speakers. my guess is running the amp thru subs will require more juice rather than just car speakers, true?

I am using it to power my 2 12's. Like I said, it does have alot of power, but it could be cleaner.

what you think of the MTX Audio Thunder342 as an speaker amp for just my front polk component set? (since i changed my mind after hearing some advice from users here and other places, decided not to amp rears and leave as is running off deck)

^^not a bad amp. should be plenty of power for your fronts. I got a 4 channel amp, but I don't even have my rears connected. Definately stick w/ a 2-channel. Rear speakers are only for the people that sit in the back. What kind of polks do you have? db series, or momo series??

^spending $300 on a 50wx4 amp is gonna do me the same as if i were to spend it on a $100 amp that gives out the exact same power. but i know quality comes in play so i decide to invest into a middle range amp. probably an older model rockford, mtx, and such.

what are some good brand line-ups i should look into for my component set?

It all depends on what you are looking for. I got the impression by reading that comment above that your friends feel as though mids and highs are not worthy of quality amplification being that "speakers" are not as important as say, subs. In a perfect world, neither speakers nor subs are less deserving of quality amplification. In reality, it would be the opposite of what it appears your friends think. You would be less likely to notice a difference in quality in your bass than the rest of your system. There are plenty of decent quality amps out there for a good price that you shouldn't settle for a Dual or a rockwood amp. Checkout

would Rockford Fosgate Punch P3002 ( 2 ch) be a great speaker amp for a component set? (100rms polks db). i read the reviews and seems like everyone who left a review powered them up to only subwoofers, is that what this amp is meant to do? or can i purchase this amp and run it with my 6.5" component speaker set?

heres the link: http://www.cardomain.com/item/ROCP3002 i plan to buy off eBay for around $150

any other suggestions would be appriceative
