Hastles with dealer over after-market car audio?
Hastles with dealer over after-market car audio?
Im debating wether or not to upgrade my stock deck, but im worried that the dealer will use that against me if i bring in my car for warranty work........you know how stupid they can be...........even something as innocent as an aftermarket CD player..........anyone have issues over that?
They would only hassle you if you did something massively abusive to the harness, like add two extra batteries, or a grossly oversized alternator. Replacing parts is well within your right-just do it well.

As long as you bet the harnesses and plug them in as opposed to cutting the stock plug off and hard wiring it. Shouldn't be any problem, because you're not modifying the wiring.

I have got large amounts of electrical mods to my 04 and have never had an issue with warranty stuff. Of course the warranty has never been electrical, but still.
They actually can't refuse service on anything under warranty unless it is a component in which you have removed or altered. I think SEMA lobbied for some law, but I can't seem to find it in my search. Just make sure you don't splice the wires, use a harness.
I killed a battery and tried to get warranty service, but they had issues with my 1/0AWG powerwire coming off the battery, so no warranty on the battery. Other than that, I have never had a problem
