What do you think of this?
I'm thinking about buying this.

I can get it from my shop for $800. Anyone have any experiences with this? No customer has every bought one so I've never really gotten to play around with it too much other than on our sound board.

Well it's really funny because yesterday I was saying how much I love my cd player.. I've got a Kenwood eXcelon and I've never had problems with it.. I think it's a KDF-X717 or something like that. Anyways, I've had it for almost 4 years now. I bought it new for $699 or something like that. But yesterday, the motor on the detatchable face went out (I knew it would sooner or later) so it's finally done. I got my cd out but now it won't turn on at all.. So I know it's the deck. Anyways, I've been looking at this cd/dvd/20GB drive all night and today so I'm just trying to get other peope's opinions. And I'd be happy with 20 GBs.. I'm on a laptop built in 2000 with a 6 GB hard drive so I know I don't even have that many MP3s!!

IRiver's are crap though. When I was working at CompUSA, about 20 of the first 250 we sold came back defective... be careful with these.
I hated to get rid of my Sony, but I got an awesome offer on an Apline IVA-D300, so I decided to upgrade... you'll love the change to that Eclpise, I'm sure...

Whoa, you posted this while I was typing my previous post. I'm just looking at this because my deck died and I also want dvd.

I have the money (ahhh tax returns) but the only other company that I know of that makes a double din screen (a non fold out one) is kenwood eXcelon and my shop doesn't carry that so.. that means no discount.
Sometimes, I can see right through myself ...

Not worth it. It uses the ATRAC3 format. It's a proprietary format that Sony developed. Basically, it's going to take your MP3s and re-encode them into this new format. I don't think you can re-decode the ATRAC3 back to MP3. I'd be very leary of buying this HU. That's just me.

No, the problem is that with the ATRAC3 format, the encoding is **** and the files are huge. The 20GB won't go quite as far as you'd think. Basically, think of converting all of your MP3s to WMA format and think how much space they would take on your HDD on your computer, and that's close to what you'll get on then HDD from that headunit.

Kenwood makes one that I thought was kinda sick, not sure of the model though.
Can't think of any others off the top of my head... I know that Clarion had one a few years ago, maybe check with them
