Rep Power: 296 Can I fill it in with bondo?
Hey guys,
This really isn't audio relted but it somewhat relates to equipment building.
I "accidentally" kicked a door at work and cracked the wood.
Its not a complete hole but the wood split on one side of the door and sinks in about an inch.
The door isn't the heavy duty front door but the basic room door.
Can I fill this in with bondo or something like it to fix the crack?
Or would it be cheaper to just buy a new door?
Can someone give me directions on how to fill in that hole properly?
Thanks in advance.

Rep Power: 286 Well dude, I would think primarily the question is what does your boss want. If he doesnt' mind repairing the door, I'd say try a polyster wood filler from home depot, depending on the crack.

Rep Power: 313 I am no carpenter, but cant you get just door skins real cheap from places like home depot? box of finish tacks should be a couple bucks on top of that, small cna of paint and be done....
I would go to a lumber store or a place like home depot if you can find an informed employee and ask about reskinning doors or door repair. they would be able to tell you what the best or easiest course of action would be.
maybe theres an online forum you can find, too

My boss doesn't care about the damage.
I work at a learning center so I teach a bunch of little rats.
I was "punishing" one of them and the result was the crack lol.
Boss actually likes me better now that the kid's are scared of me.
I'll ask about the polyester door filler and door skins.
I asked here first because most employees at Home Depot don't know anything more than I do. I usually find a senior grandpa employee because they seems to know best.

Rep Power: 296 Lol sorry, I think you guys are reading it in a completely different way.
I don't harm children in any way.
Never lay a hand on them on an inappropriate manner...I'm no Jacko.
And these are high school kids...and I'm a college student.
They got too comfortable with me so there's always some wrestling here and there when we fool around.
Hope you guys understand =)
Anyways someone at Home Depot showed me how to fix the door.
Got some spackling paste and it fixed it nicely.
